Jesus welcomed children, so we do, too!
Chapel in the Pines offers many different opportunities for children and youth to explore and form faith.
Nursery: Nursery care is offered for children birth-4 years old during both Sunday worship services. Parents and caregivers are invited to bring children to the church nursery, located in the educational wing, beginning at 9:00AM. Our nursery staff and volunteers offer nurturing, safe childcare aimed at modeling God’s love and care for creation.
Children in Worship: Worshiping God together is at the center of our lives as disciples of Christ. As such, we believe it is important that all of God’s children (regardless of age) have access to corporate worship. Therefore, we encourage children to participate in worship services.
To support and nurture our young disciples during worship, we offer a few special opportunities during worship services:
Time With Young Disciples: During each worship service, our children’s and youth director will offer a child-friendly scripture reading and message. The Time With Young Disciples provides an opportunity for our young disciples to connect scripture with their lived experiences.
Sacred Art Time: Following the Time With Young Disciples, children ages 3 and up are invited to join adult staff and volunteers in the Hall for All for Sacred Art Time. During Sacred Art time, young disciples discuss the Time With Young Disciples, dig deeper into the scripture reading through art, and form relationships with one another. Those participating in Sacred Art time will return to the sanctuary following the pastor’s sermon.
Inter-generational Faith Formation Opportunities: Opportunities to connect with people of all ages help us grow our faith! Chapel in the Pines offers a variety of inter- generational faith formation experiences. While these are often held in the Hall for All between the two Sunday morning worship services (10:00-10:45AM), sometimes we schedule events at other times. Be sure to visit the church calendar to learn about upcoming inter-generational faith formation activities. [calendar click HERE]
Youth Groups: On Sunday afternoons, we offer opportunities for youth to gather for fellowship, fun, and faith development. From 3:00-4:30PM, youth in 3rd-6th grade meet in the Hall for All for Younger Youth Group. Those in 7th-12th grade are invited to participate inTeen Youth Group from 5:00-6:30PM.
