Meet our Newest Members

Welcome Katherine Higgins and John Brantly.  Katherine and John, and their two-year-old daughter Sara Beth, moved to Chatham County in July 2018. Katherine is an ordained Presbyterian minister whose career has been primarily in hospital chaplaincy and education. She now works for the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, supporting and developing clinical pastoral education programs and educators. A native of Charlotte, Katherine attended Oberlin College and Union Theological Seminary in New York City. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Adult Transformative Learning at N. C. State University. John, a Goldsboro native, graduated from N. C. State with a Computer Engineering degree, and after jaunts at IBM and as an independent consultant, is now the IT Manager at Weaver Street Market where he is responsible for strategizing, implementing, and supporting technical systems throughout the organization. Sara Beth attends Kehillah Jewish Preschool and is looking forward to her third birthday in a few weeks. Together they enjoy outdoor and culinary adventures.
