Welcome Rev. Ginny Taylor-Troutman!
On July 24, the Session unanimously and joyfully voted to hire Rev. Ginny Taylor-Troutman as the Minister of Member Engagement of Chapel in the Pines!
In coordination with Paul Nixon (our consultant) and a Session appointed task force, this part-time position was developed to focus upon:
- 1. Intergenerational activities in-between the Sunday worship services
- 2. Small groups to involve new members into the life of Chapel in the Pines
- 3. Small groups for the fellowship and faith development of young adults
Ginny brings a wealth of experience and talent to this position.
Karen Fisher, chair of the hiring committee and the Welcome and Membership committee, says this:
“Ginny Taylor-Troutman has unique work experiences that demonstrate her ability to work with people of all ages and stages of their spiritual formation. She has served as a Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, a Chaplain Resident in a hospital setting, a Stated Pulpit Supply Pastor, a Campus Minister. Some may remember her as a facilitator in Women’s Fellowship at Chapel in the Pines several years ago. Ginny has more than the required work and academic credentials for this position, in fact, she has other qualities that she uniquely brings to the position. Ginny has a deeply thoughtful and generous spirit and she has a genuine listening ear. Her love for God and strong emotional intelligence guide her. She naturally fosters trust in her interactions. Ginny is a collaborator among staff and well-versed in what it means to live and work in a faith community. Her unique combination of work, academic and interpersonal skills equip her perfectly for the position of Minister of Membership Engagement at Chapel in the Pines.”
Alex French, chair of the Personnel committee, adds:
“We are looking forward to Ginny joining our church family. We have high hopes that she will assist new members joining and integrating in our community and help foster cross generational connections within the church body as a whole.”
Ginny will wrap up her time as the pastor of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in August and join Chapel in the Pines in September.
Finally, here’s what Ginny has to say about this new opportunity!
I am so excited and eager to join in the ministry of CITP in this new role! I look forward to deepening connections with members, nurturing small groups, and engaging with our wider community together. The church is a powerful force of Love in this world and I can’t wait to experience that joy and wonder with you all. In hope, Ginny
