Session Meeting Digest

At the stated session meeting on September 18, the following happened

  • The church’s finances continue to be in the black
  • Finance and Administration is going to gradually increase the church’s operating reserve to 25% of the annual operating budget
  • The Personnel Manual was approved and will be posted on the website
  • Session joyfully celebrated Joelle’s achievement of her Certified Christian Educator status. The service to recognize her accomplishment will be held Sunday, October 29, at 3 PM
  • Sunday worship during Advent will have one service on Sunday mornings at 10:30 AM starting December 1 and extending through the end of December
  • There will be two additional services Christmas Eve at 4 and 7 PM
  • The Revised Child Protection Policy was approved, a Task Force to implement the policy was approved
  • A new member, David McQuay, was joyfully welcomed into the life of the church
  • The younger Youth Group will hold a Soup Dinner with proceeds going to CORA. The dinner will be November 19, 2023
  • The Winter Weather Survival Drive will begin in October, coats and other items can be donated Wednesday from 9 – Noon and Sundays after church starting October 4
  • POMs is moving along rapidly with an end in sight. A LARGE workday will be held October 28, with the expectation of the pavilion being ready on October 29
  • The church’s Security Task Force successfully pulling together security policies and procedures
  • The Baha’is will hold a One Human Family Workshop at CitP the weekend of October 20 starting at 6 PM on Friday and ending with cleanup at 6:15 PM on Sunday
