October 14, 2012 Called Session Meeting

Called Session Meeting
October 14, 2012 – Sanctuary

Attending Elders:  Jeff Morehouse, Bob Warren, Jerry Wehmueller, Mitzi Lesher-Thomas (moderator), Mary Donna Pond (Clerk)

Also Attending:  Ilia Rosen, Daniel Hemme, and Leah Arnold

 

The meeting was called to order at 9:20 a.m. in the Sanctuary.  A quorum was present.  Mitzi opened the meeting with prayer.  The purpose of the meeting was to accept new members.   Ilia Rosen wished to join by reaffirmation of faith.  Daniel Hemme and Leah Arnold wished to join as affiliate members.  Kenneth McIntyre, and Mary and Allen Matlins had indicated their desire to join but did not arrive in time for the Called Meeting.  Following introductions of Elders and prospective new members, the contents of the new member information and process of introduction during worship were explained.  A motion to receive these people into membership was made by Jerry and seconded by Bob.  The motion passed joyfully and unanimously.  Following a closing prayer, the meeting was adjourned at 9:40 a.m.

[The Matlins and Kenneth arrived in time to be received by the congregation during worship.]

Following worship, the Session reconvened with the Matlins, Jerry Wehmueller, Jeff Morehouse, Mary Donna Pond, and Mitzi Lesher-Thomas in attendance.   Self-introductions were made and the contents of the new member packet were described.  Jerry moved that the Matlins be received and that Kenneth McIntyre be received in absentia.  The vote was joyful and unanimous.  A motion to adjourn was made and passed and the meeting ended with a blessing from Mitzi at 12:30 p.m.
