June 12, 2016 Called Session Meeting
Present: Heather Bogan, Monty Brekke, Lynne Hoerter, Al Schalk, Kristin Lavergne, Archie (Butch) Smith, Barbara Strange, Jerry Wehmueller (Treasurer), Marcia Ladd (Clerk), Mitzi Lesher-Thomas (Moderator)
Absent: Karen Atkins, Terry Rudolph
Guests: Mary Donna Pond, Peggy Wilkerson, Sandy Williams (Transition Team Members)
Mitzi called the meeting to order at 9:15 AM and opened it with a prayer. A quorum was declared. The purpose of the meeting was first to announce the name of the individual the Transition Team is proposing for Interim Pastor. Mitzi asked Lynne as Chair of the Transition Team to tell session about the team’s selection process and about Lynn Stall and why the team selected her. Lynne brought the following motion from the Transition Team:
To call Lynn Stall as Interim Pastor for Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church per the terms of the Interim Pastor Agreement.
There was limited discussion and the motion carried unanimously. Al Schalk and Mary Donna volunteered to put together a press release and a write up for our web site.
The second reason for the meeting was to approve the contract for pianist. There was a motion from Personnel to approve the contract between Robert Passow and Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church for the position of part time pianist commencing on July 3. The motion carried unanimously. There being no further business, Mitzi closed the meeting with a prayer at 9:45 AM.
