Called Session Meeting
February 6, 2011
Attending Elders: Ford Heath, Lynne Hoerter, Marcia Ladd, Stephanie Miller, Michelle Morehouse, Ed Park, Chuck Rickard, Jerry Wehmueller, Mindy Douglas Adams (moderator), Jack Zollinger (Treasurer), Mary Donna Pond (clerk)
The meeting was called to order at 11:45 a.m. in the cafeteria at North Chatham School. Mindy opened the meeting with prayer. The purpose of the meeting was to receive a motion from the Building Planning Committee for permission to sign a contract with Dreaming Creek Timber Frame Homes, Inc. , following a thorough review of the contract by an attorney. Lynne explained that by contracting directly with Dreaming Creek, instead of folding the timber work into the C. T. Wilson contract, we will save approximately $20,000. The estimated cost of the contract with Dreaming Creek is $398,000. They will need $119,400 initially to order the lumber, cut, and dry it, and to perform engineering work. Bruce Raymond and Architect Keith Shaw have reviewed the contract as have Lynne Hoerter and Jerry Wehmueller. Our attorney, Guido DeMaere, will review the contract before it is signed. It was suggested that the Building Planning Committee ask Dreaming Creek if they have had success making such independent arrangements in the past and to check with other clients who may have made such arrangements. Keith Shaw and representatives of C. T. Wilson have said they are comfortable with this separate arrangement. With no other questions or comments , a vote was taken. The motion passed on a voice vote with no dissent. Following a closing prayer, the meeting was adjourned at 12:00 noon.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Donna Pond, Clerk
