Present: Barbara Amago, Karen Atkins, Stan Campbell, Pat Chappell, Paul Harrell, Paul Isom, John McDowell, Maggie Reif, Terry Rudolph

Mission and Service offers the following motion:

To approve submission of the Salem Hunger grant based on the documentation concerning this year and last year’s grants.

This from Monty as backup explanation of the grant:

“ Historically, I don’t think anyone has ever questioned it but I would be happy to address any questions that might arise. This grant is funded by the Pennies for Hunger offering that we receive each month, so we are always grateful to see a portion of those funds returned to us. We apply for this grant every year and have always received something. Last year we asked for $3,500 and received $1,700. We are asking for $3,500 again this year.

Enclosed with this application are budget reports for 2017 (showing a deficit of over $6,000) and 2018 through the end of May. We will need to adjust our 2018 budget as we are returning to an all-volunteer model and do not have a paid director effective June 30.The motion passed unanimously. There was no further business.
