All Services & Activities Suspended
A message from Andrew Taylor-Troutman.
Grace to you in the name of God who is good and whose steadfast love endures forever.
The purpose of this video is twofold: one, to make an announcement; two, two pray.
First, effectively immediately, all activities of Chapel in the Pines are suspended through next Monday, March 23rd. This includes the next two Sundays, March 15th and March 22nd. All committees and small groups are strongly urged to communicate through video chat, phone, or e-mail.
I deeply value the work of the special task force to make recommendations for worship. But this is a time for unity in seeking the common good. And we must stay home to do so.
That said, we are connected by the living, holy God. Tonight, I invite you to pray with me, as we pray on Sunday mornings. First, repeat our watchword with me, as we pray during the Time with Young Disciples. Then, let us offer prayers for our country and world by praying, Lord, in your mercy…hear our prayers.
Our watchword is John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid.
God, you are good and your steadfast love endures forever; Lord, in your mercy…
We pray for those who are already sick; Lord, in your mercy…
We pray for all healthcare staff, doctors, and nurses in the trenches; Lord, in your mercy…
We pray for our nation’s body politic, and for governments and citizens the world over; Lord, in your mercy…
We pray for the Body of Christ to be love embodied and for people of all faiths to be grace under duress as you, O Lord, walk with us through this and all that shall be; Lord, in your mercy…
And now, we are bold to pray what your Son taught:
Thank you. It is a blessing to serve as your pastor. May God our maker guard your spirit. And may the peace of Christ be with you.
