Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church, a new Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregation meeting at North Chatham School on 3380 Lystra Road will begin its fall study series for adults at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, September 7.
"Christians and Politics" will be a four-week study of Paul's letter to the Romans and how Christians live within a political system. It is designed to spark discussion, thought, and action about how to live out the call to serve God in our world.
Session 1 - Biblical Foundations
Session 2 - Honoring the Government, Serving God.
Session 3 - Why Vote?
Session 4 - Religion in Public Office
A study of the book of Genesis will begin on Sept. 7 with the viewing of "Genesis Now," a production of The Contemporary Jewish Museum (San Francisco, CA). Class attendees are invited to attend a lunch and discussion on the film following worship in Fearrington Village. The study will continue on Sept. 14 using the study guide, Invitation to Genesis, by Peter Emms. All newcomers are welcome. Study guides will be provided.
Chapel in the Pines also offers traditional Sunday School classes for children and youth at 9:15 a.m. and child care is provided during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.
Chapel in the Pines is a new Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregation that developed from a vision of University Presbyterian Church and the Salem Presbytery to respond to the growth in North Chatham County.
