Prayer Letter January 2010
Dear sisters and brothers,
Greetings in Christ’s name on this 11th day of January and of the New Year.
My family and I are still getting organized after our trip to California. We had a refreshing, if not very restful, time in Palm Springs and San Francisco. One highlight for the trip for me was seeing sea otters in the wild off of the coast of Monterey. At one point these playful creatures were near extinction in California, but thanks to conservation efforts they are thriving.
We arrived back in Quetzaltenango on January 5. Our daughter, Tamara, started the semester of her junior year the next day. My husband, Javier, has been meeting with people at the Rafael Landivar University about his thesis project in political science. I immediately went off to the capital to meet with folks at CEDEPCA to continue planning activities for this year. I’ll be going into Guatemala City again on January 19 to continue the planning process with the team. Classes will be starting on February 1.
The cold wave that is affecting much of the United States is being felt here.
