Home / Welcome Visitors

Welcome to Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church, where all our members are ministers.  We open our doors to all persons to join in worship, fellowship, educational programs, and service.  We welcome into membership all who profess faith in Jesus Christ without regard to gender, race, ethnic origin, worldly conditions, sexual orientation, ability, or any other human condition.  We hope that you will visit with us.  We assure you a warm welcome and trust that you will find the presence of the risen Christ among us.

Finding our worship space at North Chatham School

Chapel in the Pines meets in the multipurpose room of North Chatham School.  Look for the signs on Lystra Road indicating which driveway to use (not the main entrance, but the road leading to the bus parking area behind the school).  Click here for directions.

Parking and Arrival welcome-sign
  • Visitor and handicapped parking spaces are provided along the sidewalk near the covered walkway (which leads to the multipurpose room).
  • At the end of the walkway, you’ll see a banner welcoming you to Chapel in the Pines.  Please proceed up the covered walkway to the main doors, where you'll be greeted and directed to a visitors' table.
  • At Chapel in the Pines, we invite all who worship with us to wear a nametag so we may call each other by name.  While not required, visitors are invited to make a nametag upon arrival.  A printed nametag will be waiting for you the next time you attend.
  • We will also invite you to fill out a visitor card so we can add you to our email listserve and learn a bit more about you.
  • A church member wearing a red carnation will also be available to assist you each Sunday should you have any questions.

What to Wear?

There is no dress code here. You'll see people in jeans sitting alongside folks in suits and ties, dresses & slacks. Come as you are and you will be welcome here.

Sunday School

For those wishing to learn about and discuss Biblical, spiritual and contemporary issues, we have several informal Sunday School classes for adults, youth and children from 9:15 - 10:15 a.m.  Please ask anyone in the narthex (lobby), and they will direct you to the appropriate classroom.  A list of classes available can be found in our current newsletter, which is available for you through the homepage of this website.

Worship worship

Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. and lasts about an hour. You'll find Bibles and hymnals in the chairs -- these do not indicate a reserved space.  Please take a seat anywhere.  Click below for a sample bulletin you can review to learn about a typical order of service.

Childcare

Children are welcome at Chapel in the Pines.  Childcare is provided throughout the morning.  For older children, a Time With Children during worship invites children of all ages to come forward for a time of learning prior to the Sermon.

Fellowship Time Following Worship

You are invited to stay following worship for a time of fellowship.  Refreshments are provided and members welcome your questions and comments.
